BLACK STONE CHERRY Pulls Out Of 'ShipRocked'
August 30, 2012Kentucky rockers BLACK STONE CHERRY have canceled their previously announced appearance at the fourth annual ShipRocked, the ultimate rock music cruise vacation which sails November 27 - December 1. The band's frontman, Chris Robertson, said in a statement, "I have received a blessing and my son will be born on November 25th, if everything goes to plan. The due date being so close to the date of the cruise has caused us to have to cancel our performances. I hate it, but with our band and our friend Alan, we all live 'family first.' I hope you all understand. And hope to see you on ShipRocked 2013!"
BLACK STONE CHERRY's previously announced shows in September will go ahead as scheduled.
BLACK STONE CHERRY in February released a music video for their single "In My Blood", taken from the band's third album, "Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea". The documentary-style video follows Private First Class (PFC) Randy Hirneisen, a 20-year-old U.S. Army soldier stationed in Europe, as he is deployed in Afghanistan, redeployed back to Germany, and finally sent home to Augusta, Georgia, where his wife Cindy Torres introduces him to their two-month-old son Randy Hirneisen Jr. for the first time.
Although BLACK STONE CHERRY has a number of family members and friends who are or have been in the military, Chris Robertson told The Pulse Of Radio that the song "In My Blood" itself is open to interpretation. "When you write a song, you write it for what you feel, but you hope people interpret it to how they feel," he said.
